When I retired, I said my first project would be to rebuild my wellhouse. Thirty plus years of Texas weather and animals had not been kind to it. The squirrels considered it the perfect place to store pecans and I was having to use extreme measures to prevent the pump from freezing during the winter because of all the extra entrances.

You know what they say about plans. It was almost a full year before I was able to start.

The biggest surprise was all the gecko egg shells I found inside the frame. My next project will be creating a gecko habitat to ensure the displaced geckos have a place to live and breed.

Almost done, but I needed to add some whimsy for the finishing touches. Here’s where my laser etcher came in handy.

Finally, only 15 months after retirement, I’ve completed my first task. Have to say though, I’m happy with it.
